We're recruiting a Social Worker to join the Assessment & Safeguarding Team in Darlington, offering a varied caseload and the chance to work in a small, well‑connected local authority.

The Role:

You will support children and families from referral through to intervention, managing a diverse caseload across the full safeguarding pathway. This is a frontline, varied role ideal for Social Workers who enjoy working across different stages of intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete Child & Family Assessments
  • Manage cases across:
    • Child in Need (CIN)
    • Child Protection (CP)
    • Children in Care
    • Public & private law proceedings
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • Work within a relational practice framework
  • Collaborate with integrated support services to improve outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and high‑quality case records

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Experience within Children's Safeguarding / Assessment teams
  • Confident managing a varied caseload
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi‑agency environment
