Are you an experienced Assessment Social Worker looking for your next locum opportunity? We are currently recruiting for Assessment Social Workers to join a dynamic and supportive team in Sandwell, offering competitive rates of up to £40.00 per hour. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast‑paced frontline service, carrying out high‑quality assessments that help safeguard children and support families.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake Child and Family Assessments inline with statutory guidance.
- Complete Section 17 and Section 47 assessments.
- Assess risk and identify the needs of children and families.
- Develop outcome‑focused plans to ensure children receive the right support.
- Work closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate case records and prepare clear, evidence‑based reports.
- Attend strategy meetings, child protection conferences and court proceedings where required.
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Previous experience within Children’s Assessment or Front Door Teams.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
- Excellent assessment, communication and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload in a fast‑paced environment.
