About the Role:
As Fostering Practice Manager (Recruitment), you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the fostering recruitment strategy, expanding the pool of skilled and committed local foster carers and strengthening the support available to children in care.
Combining strong leadership with creativity and relationship-building skills, you will help drive recruitment forward, develop external networks and identify innovative ways to attract prospective foster carers.
You will work closely with the Marketing Officer, internal recruitment officers and Training Coordinator, while providing supervision, leadership and support to assessing social workers. Your work will help ensure the service meets its recruitment targets and delivers the best possible outcomes for children and young people in Slough.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the fostering recruitment function, helping to deliver ambitious recruitment targets.
- Build and maintain effective external networks and partnerships to raise awareness of fostering opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with marketing and recruitment colleagues to develop creative, engaging and effective recruitment initiatives.
- Supervise, support and develop assessing social workers, promoting high standards of practice and professional development.
- Contribute to the development of a strong local fostering offer that meets the needs of children and young people.
- Promote a child-centred, relationship-based approach that recognises the rewards and challenges of fostering.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, strengthen the service and increase the number of competent, well-prepared local foster carers.
