About the Role
TheGreenwich is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Social Worker – AMHP to join its Adult Mental Health Services. This is a vital frontline role carrying out statutory duties under the Mental Health Act 1983, ensuring safe, lawful, and person-centered interventions for individuals in crisis.
As a Senior Social Worker and practicing AMHP, you’ll play a key role in coordinating assessments, making decisions under the Act, and working closely with partner agencies, service users, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Mental Health Act assessments as part of the AMHP rota
- Complete comprehensive assessments of need and risk under the Care Act 2014
- Provide professional guidance and support to colleagues on complex cases
- Work collaboratively with health and social care partners, including Approved Clinicians and crisis teams
- Promote least restrictive practice and recovery-focused outcomes
