About The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the busy Children's Services Duty Team at Rotherham.
This role is available to provide cover for a maternity-related absence within the team and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to work within a fast-paced statutory service.
The successful candidate will manage referrals and assessments, safeguard children and young people, and ensure cases are progressed effectively and within required statutory timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20-22 children at any one time.
- Undertake high-quality assessments and interventions within statutory timescales.
- Progress cases efficiently, with most cases expected to be transferred or closed within approximately 45 days.
- Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns and ensure children remain at the centre of decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies and internal teams to safeguard children and support positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely case recordings and reports.
- Participate fully in the team's duty rota and respond effectively to incoming referrals and changing workload pressures.
- Exercise sound professional judgement and make appropriate decisions within a fast-paced duty environment.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Have recent experience working within Children's Services Duty, Assessment or Front Door teams.
- Demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge and confident professional decision-making.
- Have experience managing a busy and demanding caseload.
- Be confident working in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict statutory and service timescales.
- Have excellent assessment, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be able to work effectively with children, families, colleagues and multi‑agency partners.
- Have a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes for children and families.
