About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team in Medway. This is a hybrid position requiring regular attendance within Medway, alongside community-based and office working. The successful candidate will manage a caseload within the Safeguarding Team, delivering high-quality, person-centred and strengths-based assessments and interventions. The role places a strong emphasis on face-to-face engagement, ensuring adults with care and support needs are empowered to lead safe, independent and fulfilling lives. Working in accordance with Care Act duties and powers, you will collaborate closely with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable adults while promoting wellbeing and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex safeguarding caseload within Adult Social Care.
- Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act.
- Complete strengths-based, person-centred assessments and interventions.
- Conduct regular face-to-face visits and maintain effective engagement with service users.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, health professionals, and partner organisations.
- Ensure individuals' voices are heard and remain central to all decision-making processes.
- Apply relevant legislation, policy, guidance, and best practice in all aspects of work.
- Prepare clear, structured, and concise reports for strategy meetings, court proceedings, and other statutory requirements.
- Effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accurate and timely case recording.
- Utilise information, data, and technology appropriately to support service delivery.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Minimum of 18 months' experience within Adult Safeguarding Services.
- Proven experience undertaking Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries.
- Strong knowledge of: Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights and Equality legislation, Relevant guidance and codes of practice.
- Excellent assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to attend Medway regularly as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
