About the Role
Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced and dedicated Children’s Safeguarding Social Worker to join our dynamic safeguarding service. This is a vital role focused on protecting and promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring they are safeguarded in line with statutory and legal responsibilities. You will work with children and families in crisis, undertaking assessments, planning interventions, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality social work services to children, young people, and families in line with statutory responsibilities.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, care planning, and intervention work to safeguard children at risk.
- Manage complex safeguarding cases, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure coordinated safeguarding responses.
- Promote positive outcomes for children through evidence-based practice and robust planning.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and analytical case records in accordance with policy and procedure.
Requirements
- Professionally qualified and registered with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 3 years’ permanent post-qualified experience.
- Strong experience within children’s safeguarding services.
- Confident in assessing risk and making sound professional judgements.
- Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, statutory environment.
