About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Social Worker to join the Permanence Team based in Northampton. This role focuses on supporting children who are looked after by the Local Authority and have a care plan of adoption, ensuring they achieve stable and lasting permanence.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to achieve permanence for children
- Support children with a care plan of adoption, ensuring their needs remain central to all planning
- Build strong, meaningful relationships with children, young people, and their networks
- Contribute to effective and proactive permanence planning
- Work closely with the Children in Care Service and external partner agencies
- Manage a fast-paced caseload while maintaining high standards of practice
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Proven experience working with Looked After Children (LAC)
- Experience within a LAC team, court team, or safeguarding service (including court attendance)
- Strong understanding of permanence planning and adoption processes
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
