Salary: £37ph

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team based in Hertford & Ware. This is a locum opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work in a highly respected and innovative model of practice that puts children and families at the heart of everything.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure children remain at the centre of all interventions and decision-making processes
- Engage directly with families, building meaningful relationships to promote positive change
- Complete parenting assessments and provide evidence-informed recommendations
- Liaise effectively with partner agencies, including education, health, and police
- Respect and consider people’s life experiences, diversity, and individual choices
- Conduct regular home visits, including unannounced checks where appropriate
Manage all aspects of Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) cases, including:
- Chairing and minuting core groups and CIN meetings
- Attending multi-agency professional meetings
Manage cases in public law proceedings:
- Write and present court reports, including Section 7 and Section 37 reports
Attend court hearings as required:
- Challenge parents constructively and respectfully to safeguard children Work with a high degree of autonomy, while maintaining regular supervision and team collaboration
