Qualified Social Worker needed for our Children in Care team in Southampton, paying £39 ph!
About the role
This role will work alongside existing social workers to progress applications to discharge care orders and provide targeted support where children have returned home to parents and are ready for care orders to be discharged. The post has a strong court-work focus and will play a key role in driving timely legal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting social workers with court work, including drafting and completing court statements
- Completion of court paperwork, legal documents, single assessments and SGO reports
- Supporting children placed at home with parents where care orders are progressing toward discharge
- Acting as a Duty Social Worker, responding to placement instability and breakdowns
- Providing flexible support, including occasional work beyond 5pm when placements break down
- Supporting children placed out of area, responding to service demands as required
- Being office-based 2–3 days per week and available to support duty social workers
