We are seeking a committed and skilled Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team. This role is central to supporting and promoting strong, resilient communities while ensuring that the people we serve can live independently, safely and successfully. You will work collaboratively across Adult Social Care and with partner agencies to deliver high-quality, value-for-money services that make a real difference—now and for the future. Support is delivered through a strengths-based approach, enabling individuals to build resilience, access community networks, and maintain long-term independence.
Main Responsibilities
- Work within key social care legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Provide personalised information, advice and support to adults, families and carers.
- Conduct timely and proportionate assessments, reviews and interventions, ensuring clear, outcome-focused support plans.
- Explore and coordinate informal networks, community resources, equipment and home adaptations to meet identified outcomes.
- Manage a varied caseload, including telephone and community-based work.
- Participate in duty rota and provide emergency advice as required.
- Act as a trusted assessor, with awareness of when to expand or involve other professionals.
- Identify, report, and respond to safeguarding concerns for adults and children, undertaking enquiries in line with statutory requirements.
- Balance risk appropriately while empowering individuals to make informed choices.
- Maintain accurate, defensible, high-quality case recording, including preparing court reports and giving evidence when necessary.
- Contribute to service development and, where appropriate, supervise staff or students.
