Qualified Social Worker needed for our Family Safeguarding team in Cambridgeshire paying £39ph!

Location: Cambridgeshire

Rate: £39 per hour

Contract Type: Locum / Temporary

Start Date: ASAP

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Service based in Huntingdon. This is a frontline statutory role working with children and families across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC) pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete statutory visits for CIN, CP, and CIC cases
  • Hold and manage a varied caseload including CIN, CP, and CIC, with some cases progressing to PLO or S31 Care Proceedings
  • Chair CIN meetings and Core Group meetings
  • Attend and contribute to Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences (ICPCs / RCPCs) and complete high-quality conference reports
  • Complete court reports, risk assessments, and parenting assessments
  • Attend court hearings, supported by a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager
  • Participate in the duty rota
  • Effectively manage and assess risk to ensure children are safeguarded
