Locum Band 6 Pharmacy Technician – Part Time

Located: Wales

3-6 Month Contract

This is a great opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to an NHS Trust while maintaining flexibility.

Role Details:

  • Specialty: Pharmacy Technician (Band 6)
  • Shift Pattern: Part-time, 2–3 days per week

Duties Include:

  • Dispensing and Supply of Medicines: Accurately dispense medications to inpatients, outpatients, and discharge patients. Label, package, and prepare prescriptions according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Aseptic Preparation (if trained): Support aseptic preparation of sterile products in cleanroom environments. Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and infection control protocols.
  • Medication Reconciliation: Obtain and verify patient medication histories on admission and discharge. Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate medication records.

Requirements:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ NHS hospital experience preferred.
  • Experience in aseptic preparation and/or clinical ward-based services is desirable, but not essential.
