Tripod are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to work in Ceredigion, Wales.
£35-£45 an hour
2 office days / 3 days working from home
Ceredigion Council are in an exciting period of restructuring OT services. The OT team is friendly supportive and forward thinking. We’re eager to share our skills and perspectives to support the teams around us. We are seeking OTs to fulfil a community social services role. Specifically, we are looking for OTs with experience of complex adaptations and manual handling. There is also potential to gain or use existing knowledge of paediatrics as we are a through age service.
Essential clinical skills and experience:
- Complex case management with long term and chronic conditions.
- Manual handling assessment and provision of associated plans.
- Postural assessment and provision of specialist seating and wheel chair prescription
- Comprehensive knowledge and skill relating to complex manual handling equipment and disability aids.
- Environmental adaptations. Ability to identify eligible need. Proven record of assessment, recommendation and planning urgent minor and complex major adaptations (stair lifts, fixed hoist systems, shower / bathing facilities etc)
- Supervision and support of junior OTs and OTAs
- Proven ability in carrying a complex community case load autonomously.
- Excellent clinical recording and organisation skills.
Time expectations: These roles will require travel within Ceredigion, across the whole county, carrying out face to face assessments in people’s homes. Use of a car is essential. This is a full time role but will consider condensed hours
Other essential requirements: IT competent. Prioritisation of own case load. To work within established management structure.
