About the role
We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Professional / Team Manager to provide operational leadership and management of safeguarding activity across a portfolio of education settings within Nottingham City.
The successful candidate will work closely with schools, education providers and safeguarding partners to strengthen safeguarding arrangements, ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, and promote consistently high standards of child protection and safeguarding practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safeguarding professional with strong knowledge of education safeguarding, multi-agency working and statutory requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage safeguarding activity across a portfolio of education settings within Nottingham City.
- Provide expert advice, professional challenge and support to school leaders on safeguarding practice and statutory requirements.
- Ensure schools and education providers maintain compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), Working Together to Safeguard Children, and relevant local safeguarding procedures.
- Oversee the management and escalation of complex safeguarding concerns.
- Monitor safeguarding performance, quality assurance activity and safeguarding improvement plans.
- Support schools with safeguarding audits, inspections, reviews and improvement activity.
- Identify areas of safeguarding risk and provide appropriate challenge, advice and intervention.
- Develop and deliver safeguarding training, guidance, briefings and best-practice resources.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with schools, Children's Social Care, police, health services and other safeguarding partners across Nottingham City.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and the continuous strengthening of education safeguarding arrangements.
- Provide clear reporting and assurance to senior stakeholders regarding safeguarding performance and areas for improvement.

- You will need to be confident advising senior leaders, managing complex safeguarding matters and supporting education settings to deliver effective, compliant and child-centred safeguarding arrangements.
