About the team: As a Specialist Social Worker, you will undertake high-quality assessments and interventions, ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive appropriate support while promoting stability, safety, and positive long-term outcomes. You will play a key role in delivering legally robust assessments, safeguarding children, preventing destitution, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and statutory guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a specialist caseload involving Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC), No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), and intentional homelessness cases.
  • Complete Child & Family Assessments, Human Rights Assessments, and Merton-compliant age assessments to inform safeguarding and support planning.
  • Support young people through asylum and immigration processes, ensuring their welfare, safety, and legal rights are upheld.
  • Work collaboratively with Housing, Health, Education, Legal Services, the Home Office, and other partner agencies to secure positive outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans, pathway plans, and accommodation solutions while facilitating smooth transitions to long‑term social work teams.
