Position: Qualified Social Worker – Child Support and Safeguarding Team

About the Role
As a Children's Safeguarding Social Worker, you will play a critical role in protecting and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will undertake assessments, manage safeguarding risks, develop effective care and intervention plans, and work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying risk, need and vulnerability.
- Develop, implement and review effective intervention and safeguarding plans.
- Manage and reduce risk through timely safeguarding action and robust care planning.
- Provide support, guidance and advocacy to children and families, ensuring the child's voice remains central to decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with health, education, police and other multi-agency safeguarding professionals.
- Monitor children's welfare and progress while ensuring statutory duties are met.
- Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case recordings, assessments and reports.
- Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, core groups and court proceedings where required.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and long-term stability of children and young people.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, local policies and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
- Social Work qualification.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Relevant experience in children's safeguarding/social work.
- Strong assessment, risk-management and care-planning skills.
- Experience working with multi-agency partners.
- Ability to produce high-quality case records and reports.
- Confidence participating in child protection and court processes.
- Strong communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
