About the Role
As a Social Worker within the Duty & Assessment Team, you will provide a high-quality service across all aspects of assessment, care planning, and care management. You will work with children and families at the point of referral, undertaking statutory assessments, identifying needs and risks, and ensuring timely and effective interventions. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred practice, promoting positive outcomes, and safeguarding children through effective partnership working and evidence-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children, young people, and families, including associated administrative responsibilities.
- Respond appropriately to referrals allocated by Team Managers and Senior Practitioners.
- Undertake timely and comprehensive assessments in accordance with statutory requirements and local procedures.
- Develop and coordinate outcome-focused care and support plans informed by best practice and legislative guidance.
- Engage effectively with children, families, carers, and support networks to promote participation and positive outcomes.
- Ensure service users and carers have access to relevant information and support.
- Attend court hearings where required and prepare high-quality court reports and statements.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including Health, Education, and other professionals, to deliver coordinated support.
- Provide written and verbal reports and contribute to monitoring and reviewing plans and outcomes.
- Support the development of best practice within the team and promote a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
