We are seeking an experienced Children and Family Services (CFS) Advanced Practitioner to join its Safeguarding Service based in Loughborough, with responsibility for cases across Melton Mowbray as required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled social work professional with substantial experience in Child Protection and Court Work to take on a leading role within a supportive and progressive safeguarding team.
The Role
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will hold complex safeguarding cases and provide expert social work intervention to children and families.
You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality practice across Child Protection and Court proceedings, ensuring children are safeguarded and supported to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- This is a hybrid position; however, successful candidates will be expected to attend:
- Weekly team pod meetings in the office.
- All designated duty days.
- Monthly team meetings.
- Court hearings and related proceedings in Leicester City as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of Child Protection and Court cases.
- Complete comprehensive assessments, risk analyses, and care planning.
- Lead on safeguarding interventions and statutory child protection processes.
- Prepare high-quality court statements, assessments, and reports.
- Attend court hearings and provide evidence where required.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, legal representatives, and partner agencies.
- Support and model best practice within the team.
- Ensure all recording and documentation are completed accurately and within statutory timescales.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
- BA/BSc Social Work
- MA Social Work
- Diploma in Social Work
- Or equivalent recognised qualification
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Services.

- Child Protection
- Safeguarding
- Court Work and Care Proceedings
- Multi-agency working
- Strong knowledge of current childcare legislation, safeguarding practice, and statutory guidance.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases and make sound professional decisions.
