About The Role
We are seeking an organised and customer‑focused MASH Referral Officer to join a busy and dynamic Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). In this vital role, you will provide administrative support to the MASH Referral Desk, helping to ensure children, young people, and their families receive timely and effective support. As the first point of contact for referrals and enquiries, you will deliver a professional, compassionate, and efficient service, ensuring all calls and requests are handled with discretion, accuracy, and excellent customer care. Working in a fast‑paced safeguarding environment, you will use your initiative to assess enquiries, provide appropriate information where possible, or elevate matters to the relevant professionals for review and action.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the MASH Referral Desk.
- Respond to telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Screen incoming referrals and enquiries, using initiative and discretion to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Accurately record and process information in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partner agencies.
- Support the smooth operation of the MASH by ensuring referrals are managed efficiently and within required timescales.

About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working within an administrative or business support role, ideally within Children's Services, Social Care, MASH, or a safeguarding environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and accurate when working under pressure.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
