About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Social Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people by providing high-quality social work support, safeguarding, and care planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people.
- Undertake statutory assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with relevant legislation and guidance.
- Complete age assessments where required.
- Develop and implement pathway plans to support young people transitioning to independence.
- Work collaboratively with education, health, legal, housing, and community partners.
- Safeguard children and young people, identifying and managing risks effectively.
- Prepare reports for court proceedings, panels, and statutory meetings as required.
- Ensure all case recording is accurate, timely, and compliant with organisational standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with the relevant professional body.
- Previous experience working with UASC and/or looked-after children.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, immigration-related issues, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
