We are looking for an experienced and committed Supervising Social Worker to join our dedicated Fostering, Supervision & Support team covering Exeter. In this vital role, you will support and supervise foster carers, ensuring children in care experience safe, nurturing, and stable homes. You will provide professional guidance in line with the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards, and all relevant legislative frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality supervision, support, and advice to foster carers.
- Undertake unannounced visits, annual reviews, and contribute to the service’s quality assurance.
- Assist in the delivery of training to both prospective and current foster carers.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and reflective records of all casework.
- Champion excellent social work practice and uphold safeguarding standards.
- Support foster carers in understanding legal frameworks and permanency options for children.
- Work across the South Fostering area as needed, with a flexible approach to travel and working patterns.
