About the Role:
Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for improving outcomes for children and families? We are recruiting for a Family Court Advisor to join CAFCASS in a rewarding hybrid role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children involved in family court proceedings. As a Family Court Advisor, you will represent the best interests of children, providing high-quality assessments, analysis and recommendations to the Family Court. Working closely with children, families, legal professionals and partner agencies, you will ensure children's voices are heard and that decisions are made with their welfare at the center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent children's best interests throughout private and/or public law proceedings.
- Undertake high-quality assessments and prepare clear, evidence-based reports for the Family Court.
- Build positive relationships with children and families, ensuring children's wishes and feelings are effectively represented.
- Analyse complex family situations, identifying risks and making informed recommendations to the court.
- Work collaboratively with local authorities, legal representatives and partner agencies to safeguard children.
- Attend court hearings and provide professional advice where required.
- Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case records in line with organisational standards.
- Manage a varied caseload while meeting statutory timescales and performance expectations.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
- Experience of safeguarding, child protection and completing complex assessments.
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of family court processes and relevant childcare legislation.
- Ability to work independently while managing a busy caseload.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (where required).
