We are currently recruiting for the following post
QSW - Blackburn Council - LAC - £39 per hour
The Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services (graded ‘Good’ in its ILACS Ofsted inspection) requires one full‑time agency social worker to cover the CIOC Court service, primarily carrying out all duties in relation to children looked after under care proceedings.
The role mainly involves care proceedings/court work, with some residual duties for children who remain looked after after the conclusion of care proceedings.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct court hearings and proceedings related to care and protection of children.
- Manage a caseload of children under care or subject to care proceedings.
- Provide all required directions to meet local authority and court time‑scales.
- Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high‑quality care.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years post‑qualification experience, ideally in safeguarding, care proceedings and related court work.
- Active registration with the Social Work England (SWE) register.
- Valid driver’s licence; experience using the Protocol LCS system is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Working arrangements
- Both office‑based and home‑working arrangements are available.
- Flexibility required with a minimum of 3‑4 days in the office each week.
