Tripod are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to work in Barry, Wales. £2 office days / 3 days working from home.
Adult Services - Occupational Therapy and Specialist Assessment Team.
Work includes:
- Assessing for aids to independence
- Works of adaptation (major and minor)
- Manual handling assessments
- Evaluating the effectiveness/impact of all aforementioned
Helping the Council keep people at home for as long as possible and keeping costs of care packages down. To promote and maximise independence, social inclusion and safe care for all clients on caseload.
To carry out occupational therapy assessments, intervention and evaluation of service provision for adults. To support and supervise the work of junior staff, students and Occupational Therapy Assistants as delegated by the Team Manager to ensure consistent standards of good practice and activity within the team.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing administrative tasks relevant to the caseload, ensuring that the computer-based data system is properly populated to evidence activity, assessments and services.
- Contributing towards the development of services to adults in the Vale of Glamorgan Council catchment area.
- Preparing for and attending supervision with the team manager or authorised designate.
- Ensuring compliance with the Council’s Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies and Procedures.
- Implementing the principles of the Council’s Equal Opportunity Policy while carrying out the above duties.
- Adhering to Health and Safety legislation/relevant Council policies and procedures and taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be adversely affected by your acts/omissions.
- Implementing the principles of the Council's Environment Policy while carrying out the above duties.
