Advanced Social Worker needed for Disabled Children's Service in North Devon, paying £42 per hour!

Location: North Devon

Salary: £42 per hour

Hours: Full-Time / Temporary

Additional Allowance: £150 per week accommodation/commuter allowance available for eligible candidates.

About the role

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will work closely with the Team Manager to provide professional leadership, guidance, and supervision to colleagues across the team. You will support the day-to-day operation of the service while contributing to the delivery of effective, efficient, and high-quality social work practice. You will play a lead role in promoting evidence-based practice, supporting colleagues' professional development, and driving continuous improvement across the service. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with an expectation of approximately three days per week office‑based at Springfield Court, alongside homeworking arrangements that can be discussed further at interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional leadership and practice support within the team.
  • Support the Team Manager with the day-to-day operation of the service.
  • Work directly with disabled children, young people, and families with complex needs.
  • Promote and embed evidence-based social work practice.
  • Mentor, coach, and support colleagues, students, and less experienced practitioners.
  • Deliver on-the-job learning and contribute to workforce development.
  • Lead practice improvement initiatives and support quality assurance activities.
  • Work effectively within multi-agency partnerships to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
