Advanced Practitioner needed for our Children Services Team in Havering, paying £41.10ph! Hybrid Working!
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner (CSW) to join our Children’s Services team. This is a senior practice role involving the management of complex and challenging cases, leadership within the team, and direct supervision of staff. The post holder will manage a caseload of up to 18 children and support the Team Manager in maintaining high professional standards across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of complex and high-risk children’s cases
- Provide court-related work, including preparation of high-quality reports and evidence
- Lead on care and permanency planning
- Directly manage and supervise a small number of qualified and non-social work staff
- Provide support, supervision, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced practitioners
- Support the Team Manager in developing and maintaining high professional standards
- Offer specialist knowledge in children and families social work practice across the service
- Contribute to service development, key initiatives, and strategic work
- Promote effective case management, analytical assessments, evidence-based interventions, and high-quality written work
- Support team development and recruitment processes
Requirements
- Qualified and registered Social Worker
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a permanent Social Worker, in line with DfE requirements
- Significant court experience
- Strong experience in supervising and supporting less qualified staff
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide practice leadership
