Advanced Practitioner needed for our Children Services Team in Havering, paying £41.10ph! Hybrid Working!

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner (CSW) to join our Children’s Services team. This is a senior practice role involving the management of complex and challenging cases, leadership within the team, and direct supervision of staff. The post holder will manage a caseload of up to 18 children and support the Team Manager in maintaining high professional standards across the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex and high-risk children’s cases
  • Provide court-related work, including preparation of high-quality reports and evidence
  • Lead on care and permanency planning
  • Directly manage and supervise a small number of qualified and non-social work staff
  • Provide support, supervision, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced practitioners
  • Support the Team Manager in developing and maintaining high professional standards
  • Offer specialist knowledge in children and families social work practice across the service
  • Contribute to service development, key initiatives, and strategic work
  • Promote effective case management, analytical assessments, evidence-based interventions, and high-quality written work
  • Support team development and recruitment processes

Requirements

  • Qualified and registered Social Worker
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a permanent Social Worker, in line with DfE requirements
  • Significant court experience
  • Strong experience in supervising and supporting less qualified staff
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide practice leadership
