About The Role

Lincolnshire is seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join its Children’s Safeguarding Service. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled social worker with extensive safeguarding experience to take on a leadership role within a dynamic frontline team. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a complex caseload while providing guidance, support, and professional expertise to less experienced colleagues, helping to maintain high standards of practice and positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold and manage a caseload of complex children’s social care cases.
  • Undertake statutory social work duties across: Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), Children in Care (CIC).
  • Lead on complex assessments, planning, and interventions to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Manage cases involving court proceedings and provide high-quality evidence and reports.
  • Act as a practice leader within the team, supporting and mentoring Level 1 and Level 2 Social Workers.
  • Provide guidance and support to newly qualified social workers, students, and staff in training.
  • Participate in the duty service, offering advice, consultation, and decision-making support across the team.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within children’s safeguarding services.
  • Proven experience managing complex Child Protection, Child in Need, and Children in Care cases.
  • Strong court work experience, including preparation of statements and attendance at hearings.
  • Demonstrable ability to provide professional support, mentoring, and guidance to colleagues.
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
