Adult Social Worker needed for our Mental Health team in East Sussex, paying £32 per hour.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Adult Social Worker to join a dynamic Mental Health team in East Sussex. The successful candidate will be able to undertake a full range of social work tasks independently, demonstrating the ability to manage complex situations while working within relevant legislation and statutory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of social work tasks including investigation of adult safeguarding concerns, carrying out assessments of need, analysis and care planning, risk assessment and management, commissioning support, and case reviews.
- Identify, respond to, and appropriately report children’s and adults’ safeguarding concerns.
- Liaise with key partner agencies to gather information and act as Investigating Officer where delegated.
- Work within legal frameworks, statutory guidance, and departmental policies to support outcome-focused planning for adults.
- Work directly with adults in need, carers, families, and communities to support informed decision-making, enabling individuals to express their needs and participate fully in care planning.
- Collaborate with partner agencies, service users, carers, and families to build sustainable community support networks and help individuals maintain independence for as long as possible.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and prepare professional reports for panels, meetings, and court proceedings where required.
- Support the professional development of others by contributing to the learning of social work students, newly qualified social workers, and colleagues through mentoring and group supervision.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and undertake relevant training aligned with the Professional Capability Framework.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working with adults within statutory services.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and work autonomously.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
