Litigation Solicitor

Tripod Partners are looking for an experienced Litigation Solicitor with a focus on Employment Law to join a local authority’s Governance and Legal Services team. This role will be based within the litigation team, handling a range of employment law matters, representing the Council at Employment Tribunals, and providing legal advice to officers and members. Remote working may be possible for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: * Provide legal advice on employment law, policy, and governance matters. * Represent the Council in litigation and advocacy work, including at Employment Tribunals and hearings. * Prepare legal documentation including contracts, agreements, and instruments of governance. * Assist with wider civil litigation and contribute to education appeal clerking where necessary. * Manage disputes, complaints, and related correspondence. * Support senior legal staff and assist junior team members where appropriate. * Keep up to date with legal developments relevant to the Council’s functions. Position Details: Location: County Hall / Remote (subject to agreement) Duration: 3 months Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Pay Rate: £30.77 per hour Work Pattern: Monday to Friday Requirements: * Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate (or equivalent). * Experience and knowledge of Employment Law and litigation. * Strong advocacy and communication skills. * Proficient in legal drafting and competent IT user. * Ability to manage cases independently and work under pressure. * Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous professional development. * Willingness to travel to various locations if required
