Contract: Temporary, Full-Time

About the Role

Wirral MBC is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervising Social Worker to join our dynamic Fostering Team based in Mallory. In this vital role, you will support, supervise, and develop foster carers, ensuring children and young people in our care experience safe, nurturing, and stable placements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular supervision and support to a caseload of foster carers.
  • Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers, including Form F assessments.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and retention of foster carers.
  • Ensure foster placements meet regulatory standards and safeguard children's welfare.
  • Liaise with multi-agency partners to ensure holistic and effective care planning.
  • Contribute to team meetings, panels, and professional development initiatives.

About You

  • Is a qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Has experience in fostering or children’s services (supervision of carers is desirable).
  • Is confident in managing assessments, reports, and meetings to a high standard.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Has the ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.
