Role Overview: This role offers the exciting opportunity to lead high-impact projects. With extensive data at your disposal and a culture that champions experimentation, you’re encouraged to bring complex statistical methods to the forefront of our business operations. You will be working closely with the Product and Monetisation teams to deliver insights that shape key business strategies. You’ll also be deeply involved in developing and enhancing our internal A/B testing frameworks, while also consulting with the Product Team to optimise their experimental approaches. You’ll have autonomy and the unique chance to craft the tools you use, such as developing bespoke web applications via Streamlit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Product/Monetisation teams to deliver insights that drive business decisions.
- Promote a hypothesis-driven insights culture.
- Ensure that key learnings are captured from new feature and content releases; consult on A/B test setup and analysis, as well as appropriate statistical methods (e.g. sample size estimation, handling pre-allocation bias).
- Design and build internal self-service experimentation and analytics tooling.
- Work with data engineers to ensure proper dimensions and metrics are incorporated into our pipelines.
- Develop a thorough understanding of relevant internal and external data sources.
- Collaborate with other data scientists to develop and promote best practices in analytics and experimentation across the company.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent experience.
- Typically 2-5 years relevant work experience.
- Experience articulating product questions, identifying and querying big datasets (SQL) and using statistics to arrive at an answer.
- A comprehensive understanding of statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, sampling, probability distributions) and experience in applying these concepts in real-life problems.
- Experience programming using python or R.
- AB testing experience, preferably in an online context.
- Excellent communication skills to understand business needs of cross-functional stakeholders, deliver findings and recommendations, as well as to drive collaboration.
- Ability to own analytics work from formulation of hypotheses to communicating actionable insights.
