We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department. Our client is an award-winning Trust that serves a quarter of a million people and has nearly 5,000 staff, with a vision to deliver the best quality and safest care for the community.

The Trust offers a full range of district hospital services together with specialist cancer and surgical services in conjunction with the neighbouring teaching hospitals. They have achieved multiple accolades, including being amongst the top 10 hospitals in the country for hip, knee and joint replacement outcomes, and Stroke services that regularly achieve high ratings in the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) scores.

This Emergency Department presents an amazing opportunity for the right person, joining an award-winning department. The role includes:

  • An intense and fully supported education and training programme with generous provision for study leave with full funding.
  • A 24/7 designated Trauma Unit dealing with the full spectrum from critical illness to major trauma and care for the ambulatory stream for a population of 225,000.
  • Clinical supervision, competency assessment, and education as part of the package; each doctor will have an Educational Supervisor, with this post being compliant with RCEM 2021 guidance on Education Development Time (EDT).

The successful appointee will be joining a department of seven Consultants, one Associate Specialist, two Specialty Registrars, nine rotating Clinical Fellows, one ACCS, two STGP2, four ST1GP, three F2, and two F1. The appointee will be asked to undertake various responsibilities, including sharing responsibility for the delivery of high-quality care.
