Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics (CESR Programme)
We are assisting a prestigious NHS Trust in recruiting a Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics (CESR Programme) on either a substantive or fixed-term basis for 12 months to join their Paediatrics department.
The department features an eighteen-bed children\βs ward, a hot and cold assessment unit, and a Level 1 Neonatal Unit with 10 beds, including ventilated beds for sick neonates. The unit admits infants from 32 weeks gestation, with 4690 admissions in 2019/20 for paediatrics and 232 neonatal admissions, including 26 in intensive care.
The department offers comprehensive teaching, including weekly junior doctor sessions, case discussions, and simulation training. The appointee will receive a thorough induction and supervision.
Key duties include:
- Participating in an eight-person on-call rota
- Managing acute inpatient care for children and neonates
- Attending deliveries and managing unwell patients in ED and resus
- Rotational management of the paediatric ward, assessment unit, and neonatal unit
- Providing support to maternity and neonatal resuscitation teams
- Contributing to clinical governance and audit activities
