We have been assigned by one of the UK\βs most prestigious NHS Trusts to help recruit a Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry on either a Substantive or a NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.
We are seeking candidates with expertise in this area, or those who can recommend suitable professionals, or who might be interested themselves.
Our client is a health & social care organization dedicated to providing high-quality care with compassion to improve the health & wellbeing of the people they serve, supporting and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives. Their clinical teams deliver NHS services across inpatient, primary care, and community settings, including:
- Children, Adult & Older People\βs mental health
- Forensic & Specialist mental health
- Learning Disabilities
- Primary Care & Liaison psychiatry
- Substance misuse
- Social care
- Research & Development
The appointed candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary CAMHS colleagues to deliver effective, evidence-based care to children, young people, and families, particularly focusing on adolescent mental health, facilitating rapid discharge from inpatient care, and supporting ongoing treatment within the CPFT Home Treatment Team.
Key duties include:
- Working flexibly with The Darwin Centre three days a week and the home treatment team two days a week, with a focus on supporting patient discharge and medical monitoring of patients in the HTT.
- Providing psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and young people admitted to the Darwin Centre and the Home Treatment Team.
- Collaborating with team colleagues to address safeguarding needs according to best practice standards.
- Ensuring effective documentation of clinical decisions and care plans.
- Participating in supervision, clinical audit, annual appraisal, and re-validation with the GMC.
- Contributing to clinical governance activities, including prescription management, care planning, and data collection.
Note: There is no out-of-hours or daytime on-call commitment. The post involves cross-cover rotas during leave or emergencies.
