Exciting Consultant Radiology Opportunities in NIR, VIR & Paediatric Radiology – Join a Leading Teaching Hospital
Our client, a leading NHS University Teaching Hospital in the Midlands, is seeking outstanding Consultants to join their world-class Radiology team. With a reputation for clinical excellence, research, and innovation. Our client offers a unique opportunity to advance your career in one of the UK’s busiest and most forward-thinking NHS Trusts.
We have been appointed to help fill the following three Consultant-level Radiology vacancies, each offering an exceptional scope of practice and professional development:
1. Consultant Neurointerventional Radiologist (NHS Locum-or-Substantive)
- Join a highly specialised team performing 280–300 neurointervention cases annually, including 130–150 mechanical thrombectomies.
- Play a key role in our planned 24/7 MT service expansion for hyperacute stroke care in 2024.
- Be part of a dynamic academic department involved in international trials and research initiatives.
- Participate in a 1:6 extended daytime and weekend on-call rota, with flexible job planning to support your interests.

2. Consultant Paediatric Radiologist (NHS Locum-or-Substantive)
- Work within a supportive team of six Consultants at our clients Children’s Hospital, delivering comprehensive imaging services including emergency, oncology, and complex interventional cases.
- Enjoy a varied caseload across tertiary and supra-regional paediatric services, with a dedicated 1:8 on-call rota.
- Benefit from opportunities in teaching, regional second-opinion work, and involvement in the East Midlands Radiology consortium.
- Participate in plans to develop a dedicated Children’s Imaging Centre.

3. Consultant Vascular & Interventional Radiologist (NHS Locum-or-Substantive)
- Join a strong team of eight Consultants delivering advanced vascular and non-vascular procedures, including EVAR, TEVAR, TACE, and complex embolisations.
- Be part of a nationally recognised centre of excellence with four state-of-the-art angiography suites, supported by recent multimillion-pound refurbishment.
- Take part in a flexible group job plan and a 1:7 on-call rota, with home reporting and insourcing opportunities available.
