We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in General Radiology on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Radiology department. Our client is an innovative hospital with a proud heritage and over 250 years of experience. They are dedicated to delivering an outstanding experience for everyone, with a reputation for quality care and treatment for both patients and staff. The Trust is rated "Good" by the CQC and provides regional and super-regional specialist services, including Burns, Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery, Regional Genetics Laboratory, Rehabilitation, Spires Cleft Centre, and the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre. The hospital has approximately 470 beds and employs over 4000 staff.

The successful candidate will join a well-established, dynamic team of 17 Radiologists within the Radiology department. The role involves providing General Radiology services with a specialist interest in urological, chest, or neuroradiology. The department is committed to modern, safe, efficient, and patient-centered imaging and interventional services. It operates using the Sectra PACS system and CRIS (Wellbeing), and is part of the SWASH network.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in weekend and out-of-hours imaging
  • Weekly chest cancer MDT meetings
  • Opportunities to perform lung biopsies
  • Development of lung nodule MDTs
  • Reporting of XR, U/S, CT, and MRI, including Hot Reporting and Duty Radiology sessions
  • Support clinical governance and audits

The Trust offers excellent transport links to Birmingham, London, and two international airports, with access to vibrant cities, market towns, and villages.
