We have been appointed by one of the well-performing NHS Trusts in South East England to help recruit a Specialty Doctor in Acute Medicine on a Permanent/NHS Fixed Term basis. Our client is currently one of the biggest trusts within the UK, with over 20,000 NHS professionals. The site you'll be working at is a pioneering hospital responsible for acute and community health services, a specialist hospital for acute surgery, and the place where the world's first IVF baby was delivered. The trust's mantra is 'Saving lives, Improving lives'. It promotes a supportive and open culture focused on learning and improvement. Their successful CQC rating is partly due to their inclusivity and teamwork.
The successful appointee will be expected to undertake various duties, including:
- Assessment and management of acute patients admitted to the AMU.
- Participating in the daily assessment of patients and initiating management plans.
- Performing procedures (under supervision if needed).
- Leading board rounds and MDT meetings.
- Managing patients requiring non-invasive ventilation and CPAP.
