We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant Histopathology on either a Substantive or a 12-month NHS Fixed Term basis. The successful appointee will join a Histopathology Department team consisting of 5 consultants and one specialty doctor. The laboratory processes approximately 20,953 histology requests per annum and 1,549 non-gynecological cytology requests, including some FNA work. It is UKAS ISO 15189 accredited and HTA licensed to conduct post mortems and store bodies, with a satellite license as a body store. A new body store facility is planned as part of phase 2 of the hospital rebuild. This department supports cervical, breast, and bowel cancer NHS screening programmes and collaborates with tertiary referral centres at nearby trusts, participating in MDT meetings.
