We have been assigned by one of the UK’s more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.
Our client is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff based across South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites. The successful appointee will be asked to undertake various duties, which will include:
- Ensure the delivery of a high quality Respiratory service.
- Contribute to all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.
- Cover colleague’s periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.
- Clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
- Carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required, and contribute to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives.
- Responsible for out-patient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by the Divisional management team.
- Contribute to the Audit Programme.
