Consultant – Paediatric Emergency Medicine

Our London based client is now looking for a dedicated Consultant who specialises in Paediatric Emergency Medicine to join their thriving and innovative Emergency Department.

The hospital are expanding their workforce to 12 whole time equivalent Consultants in Emergency Medicine and they need you in order to continue meeting the demand and to provide strong leadership on the shop-floor, 16 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Successful applicants will join a dedicated and passionate Emergency Medicine team committed to providing a first class service in terms of quality, safety, innovation and education.

The post holder will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Primary Medical Degree
  • FRCEM or appropriate equivalent
  • Registered with the General Medicine Council (with a license to practice)
  • On the Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine with subspecialty accreditation in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, or within 6 months of gaining accreditation at the date of interview.
  • Understanding of recent developments in the NHS and relevance for Emergency Medicine.
  • Good time management
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with other specialties, senior management and the wider network.

Additional information:

The successful post holder will be expected to deliver and supervise clinical care in the Children\’s Emergency Department whilst contributing to the out of hours cover for the wider department.

The appointee will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the department and get involved in the hospital\’s wide initiatives to improve Children\’s Emergency Care and the patient experience across the whole of the acute pathway.
