Triple West Medical has been appointed by a number of NHS Trusts to help recruit a Consultant Microbiologist for a substantive or a Locum Fixed Term Contract. They provide both acute and community services with over 5,000 staff. The department is a friendly team and very supportive of any interest and will encourage any Locum FTC postholders with CESR process.
Brief Duties:
- Providing a comprehensive clinical medical microbiology service including advising on specimens and analysis
- Validation and interpretation of results for the department and wards
- Involvement in the management of individual patients through full clinical liaison and ward visits
- Participation in medical audit and quality assurance and control within the laboratory and clinically
- Business planning, including the assessment and introduction of new methods, and forward planning for staff and equipment requirements
- Contributing to postgraduate and continuing medical education
- Participation in a recognised scheme of Continuing Professional Development. Funding and study leave is available for agreed purposes.
- Participation in clinical governance and other quality activities as relevant.
- Be an integral member of IPCT, advising and supporting the ICNs as agreed with the DIPC
- Attend hospital infection control committee
- Assist in preparing the annual infection prevention and control work programme.
Our client is happy to issue Certificates of Sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas doctors; however, GMC registration is essential for this position.
