Consultant in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)

We have been assigned by one of the UK\’s more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful ENT department.

Our client is nationally recognized as an excellent place to work and deliver care, with a team of 5,500 colleagues. They were named the Health Service Journal\’s Trust of the Year in 2020. The trust has received various awards, including an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission and ranking as the best NHS Trust to work for in the Midlands, and third best in England in 2020. The successful appointee will undertake various duties, including:

  1. Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff, including adherence to local employment and HR policies.
  2. Teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education activities locally and nationally.
  3. Out-of-hours responsibilities, including participation in the Consultant on-call rota.
  4. Managerial duties, including budget management and compliance with trust policies.
  5. Clinical duties, with opportunities to develop a subspecialty, to be discussed during the interview with the clinical lead.

The trust is located in the Midlands, offering access to excellent public and private schools, reasonable house prices, and excellent transport links to Birmingham, London, and an international airport.
