We have been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Neurology on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis. Our client is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the West Midlands providing primary, acute, and community services. They welcome the rich diversity that exists within their communities and workforce and are building a workforce that can help to realise their values, improve quality of care for patients, and solve the health care problems of tomorrow.
The Department of Neurology consists of three Consultant Neurologists who together have run General Neurology Outpatient Clinics and provide a neurological consultation service to the patients admitted into the Group of Hospitals. The Department also provides a specialist MS and Movement disorder service supported by clinical nurse specialists. Outpatient clinics can be provided at all three sites of our client.
The successful appointee will play a key role in delivering a General Neurology service with preferably a specialist interest in Headache disorders. The post holder will provide outpatient consultation service and an inpatient lesion neurology input shared with the other neurologists in the department. This involves the review and management of acutely ill patients and the facility to access the full available services at the Trust's main site.
The appointee will be expected to participate in all departmental activities, including audit, teaching, sharing administrative responsibilities, and contributing to the further development of the department. The post holder will agree to work within the models of care agreed within the department.
