We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.

The client’s Intensive Care Unit currently comprises a 20-bedded Adult Unit which can flexibly supply both Level 3 and Level 2 care. It has approximately 600 admissions per year that are both surgical and medical in origin. We also have a busy Accident and Emergency department. The Intensive Care Unit functions as a closed unit with close ties to other intensive care facilities through the North West Thames Critical Care Network. It is recognised as a unit performing to the highest standards and has been in receipt of 2 Charter Mark Awards and a Customer Service Excellence award over the last 12 years as well as a CQC Outstanding rating in 2020.

The unit has an enviable reputation in terms of both teaching and research and these are regarded as strengths it would continue to prioritise. In addition to the main ICU area, there is a 2-bedded burns intensive care which the Intensive Care consultants jointly manage with Burns Surgical colleagues. The Burns Unit is a regional centre taking the highest complexity of burn-injured patients. The existing team of ICU consultants work in a highly integrated way which is an important factor in both the quality and continuity of patient care.
