Triple West Medical are currently working with a NHS Trust in the Essex region to appoint an experienced Consultant Cardiologist with specialist interest in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
The Trust have over 10,000 staff offering comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites to over 1 million people.
They have a tertiary cardiovascular centre staffed by over 10 cardiologists that perform over 1800 coronary interventions and 2500 diagnostic cardiac catheterisations annually. The full range of standard and advanced coronary interventional procedures are performed within the 2 catheter labs. There is active primary PCI programme with more than 500 cases performed per annum. they have a high volume complex PCI and CTO service and have recently established a protected high-risk PCI program.
They have:
- 3 operating theatres
- 22 bed ITU/HDU facility
- Cardiothoracic surgery ward with over 30 beds
- Three Cardiac Catheter laboratories comprising two Interventional and one EP/Device lab
- Day case cardiology facilities
- Two Cardiology Wards, (36 beds) including CCU beds
The post-holder will:
- have broad general cardiology skills and a special interest in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The post is wholetime (10 PA) and is a new post designed to meet the expanding workloads
- contribute to the Interventional service, including a full range of complex interventional techniques and provision of Primary PCI on-call cover
- expected to work in close collaboration with the existing team of Consultant Cardiologists, Cardiac Nurse Specialists, and Clinical Physiologist, in addition to providing close liaison with other disciplines
Relevant NHS experience is required and candidates must have specialist registration
