Consultant Cardiologist – Interventional (PCI)
Triple West Medical is currently working with an NHS Trust in Essex to appoint an experienced Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
The Trust offers comprehensive acute and community services across multiple sites, serving over 1 million people with a staff of over 10,000. It features a tertiary cardiovascular centre with over 10 cardiologists, performing more than 1800 coronary interventions and 2500 diagnostic cardiac catheterisations annually. The centre has active primary PCI, complex PCI, CTO services, and a high-risk PCI program.
- 3 operating theatres
- 22-bed ITU/HDU
- Cardiothoracic surgery ward with 30+ beds
- Three Cardiac Catheter labs (2 Interventional, 1 EP/Device)
- Day case cardiology facilities
- Two Cardiology Wards including CCU beds
The post-holder will:
- Have broad general cardiology skills with a special interest in PCI. This is a full-time (10 PA) position to meet expanding workload.
- Contribute to the interventional service, including complex procedures and Primary PCI on-call coverage.
- Work closely with existing cardiologists, nurses, physiologists, and other disciplines.
Relevant NHS experience and specialist registration are required.
