NHS – CONSULTANT BREAST RADIOLOGY VACANCY
We have been asked by an NHS Foundation Trust in South West England to help them recruit a Consultant Breast Radiologist, either on a substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis. The post will be based out of our client's purpose-built integrated unit, separate from the main hospital site.
It is a fully equipped Screening Unit with:
- 4 new FFDM units, 2 with stereotactic capability and tomosynthesis, one of which also has contrast-enhanced spectral mammography
- 2 ultrasound units
- Two FFDM-equipped mobile units providing screening for clients at other sites within the Trust
The unit is actively involved in role extension with Advanced Practice Radiographers performing film reading, ultrasound, and image-guided breast biopsy. Screening MRI is undertaken in the Imaging Centre adjacent to the Breast Centre.
Our client actively participates in audit and research and is currently undertaking clinical trials involving Contrast-Enhanced Spectral Mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, and breast MRI. This is a replacement post, and both full and part-time hours will be considered.
The successful candidate will have experience in breast imaging in both screening and symptomatic settings. This includes reporting mammograms, breast ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies/wire localizations, and breast MRI. GMC registration is essential, and overseas applicants are welcome and will be considered.
The successful candidate will join a team of:
- 3 Consultant Radiologists
- 2 Breast Clinicians
- 1 Consultant Radiographer
