We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department. Our client is one of the largest trusts in the country, serving a population of 1.2 million people. They are a well-led, high-performing and innovative organisation working in the best interests of the people they serve. Their ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Assist in the provision of an effective emergency medicine service
- Provide emergency treatment to patients attending the Emergency Medicine Department and liaise with specialties
- Assist and guide junior doctors in emergency medicine
- Liaise with sister/nurse in charge and nursing staff to organise the smooth running of the department with attention to floor management in line with national targets
- Take a lead in ensuring the ED 4 hour target is achieved without compromising good quality of patient care
- Liaise with shop floor/on call consultant for clinical and administrative advice as appropriate
