Triple West Medical are currently working with an NHS Trust to appoint an enthusiastic experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to the role of Clinical Director who will lead the department to the next level of performance. The ED Consultant role is substantive and the Clinical Director role has a 3 year tenure. The Trust has over 10,000 staff offering a comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites to over 1 million people. You will have excellent clinical skills and the ability to lead on the shop floor. You will be expected to be active in the teaching and supervision of all multi-disciplinary staff.
The NHS Trust wishes to continue to build their reputation as well as advancing standards of clinical care that are at the cutting edge of their specialty. They are looking for applicants who will contribute towards this and who will help to drive the development of modern emergency care in the local health community. The Emergency Department at the site currently sees in excess of 100,000 attendances in 23/24 and will join and lead a 13 consultant on-call rota and have a flexible approach to job planning to support service requirements.
Responsibilities
- Promote a friendly and team-based working environment – in line with our Trust Values
- Undertake managerial and budgetary responsibilities as required
- Teaching of primary care colleagues and junior medical staff through a mixture of case-based review and formal teaching activity
- Provide clinical services in line with the Trust's clinical governance arrangements which is designed to ensure that agreed quality standards are achieved
- Help coordinate the design and implementation of the reconfiguration and redesign of clinical services, ensuring cohesion with the commissioners, community and social care as well as key stakeholders
- Ensure standardisation and consistency of clinical pathways across all sites and with local providers
- Develop, where appropriate, assessment models to reduce admissions
- Support the Site Medical Director, Site Medical Lead and SDEC Lead to oversee ongoing performance of the new model of service delivery and make corrections to design and implementation as necessary.
- Review and act on regular performance reports and regional KPIs
- Establish and develop outcome measures at service level
